Cruise Duck Safety

A safety-first checklist covering placement, materials, children, privacy and crew instructions.

Safe materials

Choose a clean, intact item without sharp edges, leaking gel, food, loose batteries or tiny detachable decorations. A duck intended around children should be age-appropriate.

Safe placement

Keep ducks visible in dry public passenger spaces at an easy reach. Never use safety equipment, food areas, pools, shops, children’s facilities, stairs, lifts, gangways, toilets, crew spaces or exterior ledges.

Stop when asked

Crew direction is final. If an operator or sailing prohibits hiding, enjoy the duck privately instead. Report a suspicious, damaged or dangerously placed item rather than moving it elsewhere.
